It’s self exam Sunday! To be honest, I’ve always been afraid of self breast exams - afraid of doing it incorrectly, afraid of finding a lump/bump, afraid of spending time with a part of my body that I hated for years. ? I’ve learned that a self exam is less about disease detection and more about connecting with and understanding my body so if something changes, I’ll notice. I’ve rejected the idea that I need to live in fear of my body - the way it looks, the way it smells, the hair that grows from it - and have realized that my body has worked pretty damn hard to get this far. I’m choosing to embrace curiosity over fear and I’d love it if you’d join me.
