My mother was bestowed with the prestigious Captain’s Ball, awarded for an exceptional contribution to Finnish football, at the Football Association of Finland’s annual gala on Friday.

Jari Litmanen received this awarmrd 16 years ago. However, he suggested it become a yearly prize and has since become part of the committee which decides upon a recipient. This year he chose my mother should win this.
