Step one 1 ? We make wax versions of our stock in-house, ready to be tuned into silver/gold ? ▪️The hot wax is injected into silicone moulds under pressure at about 80 Degrees Celsius. The wax cools and sets into a rigid but delicate state; that’s when we carefully bend open the moulds and remove the wax casting ? It takes a lot of practice to open the moulds without shattering the contents! The waxes are then individually inspected and cleaned up with a scalpel to remove any excess or “flash” wax ? Any that are damaged or “soft” (smooth where detail should be) are discarded ? ▪️The cleaned waxes are then bagged and tagged ready for Lost Wax Casting: a process that involves setting a hard chalky layer around the wax before melting out the contents. Leaving a perfect replica of the wax inside the mould. Molten metal is then poured in, cooled and removed - ready to be cleaned up by our on-site specialists ready for the shop floor ???
