Watch out, mermaids coming through! ?‍♀️ This #dugong mum and her calves gave @jesscleask “a pretty big shock” as they casually passed by her in @westernaustralia’s @visitningaloo. It’s not uncommon to encounter #dugongs in this part of @australiascoralcoast, as #NingalooReef is home to a diverse range of marine life, but #dugong twins (which this pair of little ones are thought to be!) are quite rare since they have a very low reproductive rate. Dugongs can be seen all year round here, but are spotted more frequently between September and November, so book a #wildlife cruise with @ningaloodiscovery or @coralbayeco during this time and you might just get lucky.
