Fashion photographer Harley Weir has been highlighting the issue of plastic waste since 2015 with a photo series of rubbish left behind in London: “It made me question my own consumption. Where is my rubbish going? Even though I’ve always hated waste, this was very worryingly the first time my eyes and ears had truly been opened to the debate"

Whether it’s the warning that we only have 12 years left to reverse climate change, the news that humanity has wiped out 60% of the world’s wildlife since 1970, or the fact that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans, one thing’s for sure – we’re in the midst of a global environmental crisis.
