I voted today. I do not take my Civil Rights for granted, specifically because the elders of my family & race were denied the right to have an opinion on decisions that govern their OWN communities, schools, businesses, & families!! And truthfully, right now is a very unique time in our country. ? The stakes are SKY-HIGH.

I waited for the polling center closest to me to open for #earlyvoting, which was today. I wanted my experience to be convenient. I was in & out of there in 15 mins! If I had waited until #ElectionDay on Nov 6, I would have had to drive 40 min & stand in a line from here to heaven. ? It doesn’t have to feel like a chore if you do it early, but it IS a necessity.

In Georgia, our race for Governor is a dead heat, which means it is as close to a tie as it can be. We Georgians have the opportunity to make US HISTORY by electing America’s first African-American Female Governor with @StaceyAbrams!! I understand what that means as a woman & person of color, and I don’t take that for granted. She also happens to be a highly qualified individual who is transparent and compassionate to the REAL issues citizens face on a daily basis. She cares about the small people (children), the small business owner, and the smaller cities who feel unheard in the affairs of the state.

Voter suppression is real. I’ve been reading about all the trickery, and I know the only way to combat that is by showing up in numbers. This is where WE COUNT. We pile up in cars to hit the club, a haunted house, or Grandma’s house to eat, we must do the same for this election. #PLEASE #VOTE ?
