Up early working from bed in Minneapolis. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s panel and getting to visit our friends at @thecovenmpls today, but the events of the past week are still at the front of my mind. Anti-semitism, racism, transphobia and xenophobia have no place here and never will. I don’t know how to keep working like normal and not be thinking about how scary the world feels- and is- right now. Some of you have written to say we should discuss these issues less, and some have asked that we discuss them more. Please know that I hear you and will always do my best to listen and create a space that is honest and as safe as possible. But I can’t focus only on pretty things when people’s lives are being brutally taken just for being who they are. What is the point of a beautiful home if people can’t live there safely, get home safely or be who they are in that home (or the home where they pray) without being attacked for who they are? I will always do my best to provide lightness and beauty whenever we can here, but I also want to acknowledge that there is a lot of darkness and sadness and fear in our homes right now too. For anyone feeling afraid, we see you and hear you. You are always safe and welcome in our homes and we will keep doing everything we can to support your safety in your own homes, too ♥️ ? by @wallpapertrader
