It is so much work! The ballot gives you high school standardized test PTSD, the issues are complex and, even with research you kind of always feel like you aren’t getting the full story. The idealism of wanting everything for everyone but the inherent knowing that the responsibility will fall on you as a tax payer, the contributing toward a future you may never even reap the benefit of but knowing that living in a society means sometimes making choices that affect others directly and you indirectly is part of life. Putting yourself in your fellow citizen’s shoes is key. Vote with integrity and with hope. Don’t throw your privilege away, we are so lucky that we get to do this, intense as it may be, my fellow Americans. But it’s important that you vote, that you contribute to the future of your state.
