Half urban, half nature. That describes Squamish the best way.
The Chief (Squamish' main climbing area) sits right beside a busy highway, so that even 10 pitches up the truck noise is impossible to ignore.
The port and the Sound are beautiful but the logging, trains and containerships take away from its pristine state.
Then again, I came here by plane and by using that same highway, so there's hardly any complaining...
