Home is where the heart is, but as an Aussie expat whenever I’m hiking and stumble across a giant gum tree like this one I like to stop for a moment and reflect on how far I’ve really come.
.
One thing I’ve learned having moved overseas, is that while family is extremely important to me, the people who are in my life are the family that I get to choose. Being so far away from home and my loved ones, it’s extremely important to me to feel like I have a strong support network of likeminded people who have my best interests at heart and who cheer me on and have my back.
.
I’m incredibly grateful that I have been able to build such a strong network of friends here in LA, and I think that the best advice I have for building genuine friendships is to first start with being a good friend. Both to yourself and others. What you give is what you get and if you give yourself and others your best then people genuinely want to show up for you and reciprocate that energy.

I couldn’t talk about the friends I’ve been able to make in America without expressing the gratitude I have for being able to represent a company like @1stphorm who values its network of people above all else. Unfortunately, the fitness industry is sometimes plagued with elitism, fad trends and ego. In stark contrast to this, it’s incredible to witness and be a part of the community that #1stphorm is. @andyfrisella and each and every person that makes up the 1stphorm #phamily is encouraging, real, supportive, honest and genuinely interested in helping themselves and others be the best that they can be. It’s beyond inspiring to see that through over 18 years of business and hard work, dedication and delivery, 1stphorm customers have been built into a community.
