We wanted to share this informative post from @nathanpeterhaas of @katushacycling discussing his disc-brake bike... From @nathanpeterhaas ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ I’ve been getting a few questions on my set up lately, especially regarding the Disk Brakes. So here it is:
I’ve been spending a lot of my training in ?? Andorra and my bike set up is specifically for that!
Frame: Canyon Aeroad CF SLX (M)
Wheels: zipp 303- I use 404 when I’m training somewhere flat but here I need the lighter faster feeling up climbs, also, Sram on Gravel roads eats up the challenge. They’re unbreakable... well, for what I’ve thrown at them! ?
Brakes: Sram Red Disk. Honestly, if your riding in the mountains Disks are the best. Speed aside, it’s just much safer when road conditions change and when the downhills are up to an hour long, your arm pump is much less! Racing I’m 50/50, but training, disks are much safer and I’m all about arriving alive.
Groupset: Sram Red etap - for Disk if you haven’t tried it, just do. Future
Power meter: Sram Quark. One of the most reliable I’ve had, and on the Red cranks, light and strong. ❤️ Crank length: 170, keep it fast and takes torque of the joints. Sprints way snappier too and pedaling through corners is Ace!
Cassette: Sram Red x glide 32-11 because spinners are winners and they look pimp
Tires: Continental 4 seasons, run them at 90PSI and I’ve had same set all season with only 2 flats. Winning
light: See Sense- just get one. Wow
Saddle Bag is a must, lighten up the pockets.
Computer: Wahoo Element Bolt ?
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR superflow for all that extra blood flow in the nether regions
It’s a race bike, but this is more then a race bike, it’s my bestie. Hope you liked hearing more about it!
