Isnt it funny how smells, noises or being in a certain place can bring you back to such a specific time in your life? In 1998 I was in Brandon for the Central Divisional Championships. My 12 year old self was disappointed to receive 2.2's and finish in 10th place. I watched my sister qualify for nationals and I went home frustrated with my double axel.

Important note to add: We couldnt afford both my sister and I's coach to travel with us, so my sister got her coach and I used a local coach for the weekend. I told my temporary coach I had triple jumps in my long program, even though I didn't, so I got to try triples for the first time in the freeskate :-) If only that child knew that the next time she would come to this very arena in Brandon it would be after winning some Olympic medals and going on tour with @thethankyoucanadatour . #figureskating #flashback #ttyct #fromthentonow #nevergiveup #lovewhatyoudo #ifonlyiknewwhatwasinstoreforme
