‘EMBRACING DIVERSITY’ ❤️ The photographic exhibition of #PHOTOVOGUEFESTIVAL curated by @alessiaglaviano and @maranif at @base_milano and dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of diversity in all its forms 👉 #PhotoVogueFestival 👉 From Thursday November 15th to Sunday November 18th ✨ FREE ENTRANCE - You’re all invited! ✨ 👉 Today we introduce Isabel Martínez @isabelitavirtual who is one of the artist on display selected by an internationally acclaimed jury ✨Here a sneak peek at Isabel’s work - ‘Maria’ 👉 ‘Maria Petit is a young, talented and brave woman. Maria lost her eyes in an accident eight years ago. When I met her I was immediately captivated by her personality. She wants to break down stereotypes about blind people and to inspire others. ‘People live in a constant comparison, complaining about their lives and their bodies. I don’t mind how you are but who you are. Sometimes people tell me: you don’t look blind...How exactly should a blind person look like?’, she said. Later I realized that maybe Maria’s disability could be not so evident for everybody, specially on social media where the most shocking images are the ones that force the viewer to pay attention. Then she said ‘Maybe I could even take my eye prosthesis off but it would be a bit unpleasant.’ She didn’t need to do that. The goal was to portray her as she is. And she is so beautiful and nice as you can see.’ #IsabelMartínez Discover more about the #PhotoVogueFestival on vogue.it 💬 and #StayTuned for more
