I spent many years of my life thinking I couldn’t wear dresses with ties around the waist. It emphasized all the parts I hated. So I’d wear swingy tent dresses that didn’t touch me. When I started putting myself in more of my photos, I realized all the clothes I’ve always felt uncomfortable in are actually the ones that are more flattering. It’s the tent dresses that make me look like I am trying to hide something. Why do we learn these things in our 40s????
