When I start to write a song I feel like I can tell the paper all my secrets because the paper can’t talk or have an opinion so it’s okay to say whatever I want. When I sing in to the microphone it’s also okay because I know that it won’t breathe a word to anyone. I didn’t just tell the paper and the microphone, I told everyone who came in to the room with me to make these songs. They made me feel safe, they made me feel free and without saying anything they let me know that I was enough and I didn’t need to be embarrassed or scared or ashamed of anything I wanted to say because they cared and they understood. These people allowed me to be vulnerable, honest and fearless in my creativity and I am forever grateful. I have been broken, I have been anxious, I have been insecure and I have been lost BUT I have also been empowered I have been happy I have been strong and I have been pure. Everything I have listed exists in Always In Between and I’m so fucking proud of what this record has become. I wasn’t alone when I thought I was and this album is here to tell you, you are not alone, you are never alone. You are enough and you should never be afraid to show all your colours. This is something I have learnt, especially as a woman! Vulnerability is power it is NOT a weakness. Here is a picture of me recording vocals in a house in Sussex where I created my album. I was In Between In this very moment and nothing has changed since. I hope you love this album and I hope this album stands by you whenever you need it to cause that’s what it’s there for.
