Last night, Hollywood celebrated the transcendent power of women. As I sat in a room surrounded by women I have admired and adored ever since I could remember, I felt deeply humbled, immensely empowered, & one thing remained unequivocally clear: we are a FORCE.
Thank you @ニーナ・ガルシア for speaking about the imperative of equal representation of women in positions of power; Thank you Kiera Knightley for demanding pay equality and for (the far too wide) gender gap to be closed in a million different ways.
Finally, I sat in complete awe and admiration as Civil & Women’s rights hero, the incomparable Anita Hill, stood before us. Promising that- for the sake of what we know is right- if the government will not protect women from sexual assault, then we will do it ourselves.
Because “it is our hands that are holding the pens that write history” and we have only just started to yell.
