When I first visited NYC ten years ago, I was staying at a the Hilton right across this corner. Every night as I was coming back to the hotel, there was always a long line at this cart even when it was late into the night. So one night I decided to see what's up and joined the queue. I got myself a combo chicken gyro platter - and... well, I loved it so much that I had to bring one back home, six hours flight be damned (at that time I was living in LA). I don't know what they put inside that signature white sauce but i knew I had to have more. It wasn't until I got back home that I looked them up - you have to remember that this was before the days of smart phones, so to connect to internet you have to be on a laptop or computer. That’s when I found out they are THE Halal Guys. When I came back to NYC a few weeks ago, of course I had to give them a visit. Happy to report they were every bit as good as I remembered.
