Posting this pic to celebrate the profile of my face, inspired by #astarisborn - I’ve always hated my nose because it’s big and not the ‘right’ size or shape. The thought of taking a picture like this would have made younger Alyssa cringe! But the message from the film resonated so much with me. The things that make you different can be your strengths. Embracing those parts of ourselves and our loved ones- that’s what allows people to soar.
Being in the modeling industry for 15 years, I allowed others to judge me and pick out my flaws. I retold myself these stories and let them define and limit me. I am happy those days are behind me. I may never LOVE my nose, but someone else will ;)
