This week’s Sound and Vision is @tame__impala ‘s 2015 album “Currents,” where Kevin Parker masterfully merged his unique neo-psychedelic sound with 70s and 80s sounding synthesizers to create something still distinctly Tame Impala, yet fresh and uniquely its own. For the album, Parker recorded all the instruments himself and dedicated innumerable hours to each detail on the album, which was met with near-universal acclaim and even scored him a Grammy nomination.
The cover artwork was designed by artist, designer, and musician Robert Beatty( @robertbeattyart )who has been incredibly prolific in the last decade, designing album covers for Real Estate, U.S Girls, Oneohtrix Point Never, and many others. His artwork incorporates elements of 70s design and surreal, sometimes psychedelic imagery. He also creates music under his moniker Three Legged Race.
