As many of you know, I suffer from anxiety and depression. This is something I am no longer ashamed of, but for years I felt crazy, alone and most of all; exhausted from not being able to talk about it. My job didn’t allow me to be ‘weak’ though I now know that opening up about my mental illness is the strongest thing I’ve ever done. Allowing me to be me and throwing out the belief that I was the only one has changed my life • for the past year, I have dedicated my existence to facilitate a safe space for people who are dealing with mental health issues in silence through my new film project @together_alone_movement for which the beautiful @kerenleigh gave me a magnifying glass to her mind and it’s warps over the past years • together with @hello.mr.frank @wouterverberkt and a team of wonderfully talented people, I intend to ignite change to how ‘we’ look at mental health in order to break stigmas by creating cinematic portraits.
