This was our second time visiting Lyon. Lyon is one of those magical places that often gets overlooked for it’s more glamorous sister, Paris. However Lyon is a place all it’s own. It’s known as the gastronomic capital of France and has produced the most Michelin star chefs out anywhere in the world. It’s a foodie’s paradise.
We only had one day to spend in Lyon so we decided to spend it wandering around Old Town. We took the tram up to the Basilica. The grace and beauty of the cathedral was truly awe inspiring and the views of the city down below were breathtaking. We ended our day the same way we did when we came last year. We picked up delicious bites from a local family run shop and found a spot on the banks of the Rhône to watch the sunset.
