Did you know that unmarried women, Millennials (age 18 - 34), African Americans, Latinos and all other people of color as defined by the Census are sometimes called the “Rising American Electorate” (RAE) and together account for almost 60% of the voting eligible population in the US? In 2016, 35% of this powerful electorate wasn’t even registered to vote!⁣

Historically, voter turnout is even lower during midterm elections. As a single example, in the 2012 Presidential election, 58% of eligible single women voted but they didn’t show up in force in the 2014 midterms (only 36% voted). ⁣

Lifestyles, attitudes and perspectives have evolved and that is reflected in the culture of our youth but it needs to be translated into our political infrastructure. That won’t happen unless you make it so. Don’t sleep on these midterms. It’s time for a RAE of hope! #GoVote.⁣
