i was debating whether or not to post this all day. in high school, i began an on and off struggle with depression. i had convinced myself i was unlovable and it spiraled into suicidal thoughts, anorexia and exercise bulimia. i felt so lost and there were so many days i didn’t think it would ever get better. i felt there was no one i could talk to in a safe space without being made fun of.

i am so grateful to have gotten to a better place and am lucky to have found friends and peers who have gone through similar struggles. it made me feel less alone knowing and hearing stories of those who have overcome.

it still hurts my heart seeing others struggling with their own mental health issues. for anyone that needs this today, i just hope you know YOU ARE NOT ALONE. there are people who care about you and i promise, it gets better. choose to seek help. know that asking for help comes from a place of strength, not weakness and know it’s okay to not always be okay. #endthestigma #worldmentalhealthday
