Julio is finally maturing. Remember that Ali is also a late bloomer. When I see Julito, I not only see my son, a gorgeous Lion. I see my whole country represented because he is named after the biggest Warrior that my country has had: El Gran Campeón Mexicano, Julio César Chávez @jcchavez115 All of us grow up with fears as life unfolds on us, but I was super lucky to have Julio as one of my Heroes, because during those dark times when Papa Bear still had fear, I always thought of the Champ going forward on all of his fights without mercy, and that’s what I did. I would say to myself “Don’t be a Coward, a left hook to the liver just like Julio would do”, and I don’t mean this only for fights, which I had hundreds of them growing up (Yes, hundreds), I mean this for every tough situation that I faced. And I conquered. Funny enough, when I rescued Julito, I went down to pick him up to my garage, he was in a tiny box, I approached him and said: “Hola papito lindo”, he replied with a hook to my nose and opened it. I Loved him instantly. I’ll post the picture later today. I have named my kids after most of my Heroes, I still have a few to name, but I have named them after Troy Aikman, Coach Jimmy Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Hugo Sanchez, Rambo, Rocky, Arnold, Tyson, Conor, Don Jose Sulaiman, General Mattis, General Patton, Bandido, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Billy The Kid, Tommy Lee, Bruce Lee, John Gotti, John Digweed, Eric Prydz, Ayrton Senna, Beethoven, Baghwan, just to name a few. I still need a baby Steve Jobs and also, I’m not naming the Buddhas that I have paid tribute to. Still some kids to name after my Heroes, but I’ve managed to pay respect to the people that have made me who I am. So if you like me or hate me, take it up on them :)
