Some of the most resilient people on the planet. Switching out columbus day’s name for this new holiday is only scraping the surface of the reparations Natives deserve for the amount of pain they’ve suffered at the hands of colonialism. The erasure of their trauma and the ignorance around their existence and appropriation of their culture that exists still today are truly sickening. We live in a country where the president won’t even acknowledge these painful truths and continues to support the destruction of sacred lands, water sources, and people which encourages the white supremacist patriarchy that has reigned unchecked for too long on these lands. Native people started the fight against these establishments long ago and I pray we all begin and continue to awaken to the dark truths of this country’s history. If you don’t know the history, look it up!! shout out to all native peoples, their ancestors and offspring, we honor your strength and ability to rise above atrocious adversity today and generations passed✨✨
