Below are some big changes we all need to make if we have any hope of reducing the most severe impacts of climate change ?? . We urgently need these energy-reducing actions to go mainstream and become our new normal. Humans are ingenious - we are capable of doing it, but the question is WILL we? . Please share to play a part in helping to make it happen... . (This list is intended as a summary of information I have read trying to understand what I can do personally to help combat climate change) . * Eat less meat & dairy . * Plan to have one less child . * Avoid air travel whenever possible . * On a daily basis make time to walk, cycle or use public transport . * Switch to a renewable energy supplier - such as @ecotricity . * Use less energy - insulate your house, wear layers, turn off appliances & technology . * Buy less 'stuff' - if you really need something choose quality items & clothes that are made to last . * Plan meals to avoid food waste/packaging waste & compost any unavoidable leftovers . * Shop local to support your local economy & reduce food miles . * Make time to learn vital skills such as growing your own fruit & veg, cooking from scratch at home, perhaps looking after chickens or bees so you become less reliant on 'the system' for food . * If you need a car, switch to electric as soon as feasible . * Consider installing solar panels or another renewable energy source . * Join local community groups - we will survive the rocky times ahead if we come together & support each other . * Spend less time working to earn money to pay for stuff that doesn't really make you happy - spend more time outdoors enjoying nature - especially with younger people - to inspire them to look after nature too . * Stop to re-frame your outlook. It's not logical to believe a global population of nearly 8 billion (and growing) can continue to consume at this rate indefinitely on a finite planet. We must learn to do
