I love that I can share the real parts of life on here, which says a lot about the folks I connect with here too. You all hold space so kindly and it really makes this corner of my world feel safe. Thank you all for that. You’re amazing.

I’m a visitor at the hospital today, which began with the ER and is now stabilized in a private room. I love/hate hospitals and I suspect many can relate. I will say everything is okay now and thankfully I’m not having to wonder if I’m going to lose another loved one. But I suppose being here makes me all the more aware of how unpredictable life is with no rhyme or reason or warning. I’m feeling more thankful than anything else, but if you want me to be starkly honest, I had a few moments where my inside thoughts, had I spoken them out loud to one staff member and the neighboring visitors who love to chat loudly and incessantly, I probably would have been kicked out. Instead I said nothing, laughed later, indulged in some vending machine junk food and soda, and then topped it off with a salad and yogurt for good measure.
