Flashback to my mom and me on our first trip to Vegas. This was right after she finished her first year of battling breast cancer - chemo, surgery, and radiation. She was misdiagnosed for 4 years until, at age 41, doctors confirmed our biggest fear with a mammogram and an ultrasound-guided needle biopsy: the lump she found at 37 years old was breast cancer.

Early detection saves lives. All women should have access to and coverage for mammograms and additional breast cancer screenings. We were blessed that during those 4 years of being misdiagnosed, my mom’s cancer did not spread further than it did.
