Every week I gather and answer the mail sent to my agency. These are some of my faves I’ve kept over the years. Within the compliments, requests for money, and advice on who I should cast in my movies, every week there are letters from parents who adopted because they read my book. This is not an attempt to sell, all book proceeds are donated. I’m writing about this because in my often shallow industry in the cesspool of a town known as Los Angeles, these letters touch me deeply. I was unsure about going public with my daughter’s story but was convinced to do it by something @katiecouric said: Think of how many kids you could get adopted. So I wrote Instant Mom in the hope of getting one child adopted. My heart is full of gratitude for the letters I receive, the social media posts and the people I meet who tell me that they read the book and adopted a child. Is this a humble brag story? No. It’s a lesson to myself to always remember to do things that scare me. #justwrite
