Oceans | This is the beluga whale, the only cousin to the narwhal. This pale whale has adapted perfectly to the harsh climates of the arctic. You may notice that it does not have a dorsal fin and it has an elongated bump on its head. This bump has an echolocation organ in it called a melon and is critical for beluga’s to move around under water and to find blowholes deep under sheets of ice.
