The bluest of blues. ? #Repost @lssartadvisory: “Larry Bell: Bay Area Blues” is now on view at @anthonymeierfinearts through 19 October 2018. An experiment in color, the works showcase the complementary effects of light, reflection and saturation. The #exhibition comprises four new glass cubes, featuring the eponymous sculpture ‘Bay Area Blues,’ a large-scale work whose formal explorations revisit Bell’s 1992 sculpture ‘Made for Arolson.’ For ‘Bay Area Blues,’ the form within consists of two colors – one blue and one foggy white –which are both repeated in opposing layout in the outer form. The effect: an infinite number of illuminated blue hues, interacting as the viewer moves throughout the gallery.
