"I am not the first woman to multi-task. I am not the first woman to work and have a baby - there are many women who have done this before.” New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern gave birth to her first child, a girl, back in June 2018. It made her only the second elected leader in modern history to give birth while in office - the first being Pakistan’s Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, in 1990. Jacinda Ardern returned to work in August after six weeks maternity leave. Today, at the Social Good Summit, we’re calling on governments and businesses to support family-friendly policies, such as paid parental leave, breastfeeding breaks, childcare and child grants. We must redesign our workplaces, to give parents the time and support they need to give their babies the best start in life. These measures aren’t just good for children, they are good for productivity, for economies and for female empowerment too. Link in bio. ?@jacindaardern #EarlyMomentsMatter #2030NOW.
