One of the biggest reasons I want to encourage others to feel confident in themselves and their bodies by being @aerie real is so they don’t miss out on living.

It’s heartbreaking when I read some of your comments and hear stories that insecurities will hold you back from:
⚡️Going to the beach because you don’t feel comfortable wearing swimwear
⚡️Going to the gym because it feels like people are judging your fitness level or body
⚡️Saying yes to that first date
⚡️Asking for a job promotion
⚡️Joining a sports team or taking up a new hobby
⚡️Taking photos or posting photos with friends / loved ones
And millions of other opportunities, and of course if you don’t want to then don’t - live your life.

But if you do want to do or try something but you feel held back by insecurity how can you combat that?

There’s not one simple answer that will work for everyone, but do know that thousands of people who will read this will feel the same as you.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN HOW YOU FEEL.

There are millions of people who also have insecurities - it’s human. So when you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious that others are looking / judging you, most likely they are actually concerned with how they are being viewed themselves.

It’s ok be not be ok, or to not know how to love yourself or feel confident. Especially online where you’ll see models like me running around looking 100% happy and confident when it’s not always real, or it’s our job or maybe you don’t know the full story of how many years it took to find that confidence.

I kind of had to fake it till I made it with my confidence (well aware of my privileged able body) until about 6/7years when I realised deep down I wanted to commit to putting my self love first and refuse to let anything or anyone stop me from living my life how I want to.

Yes there will always be judgemental people, ignorance, trolls, bullies, but your worth is not determined by their opinions.
Don’t let their small minded negativeness affect how you feel about yourself.
