I will never forget seeing this photograph by @brentstirton at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at The Natural History Museum in 2017. This image was taken as part of an undercover investigation into the illegal trade in rhino horn.

Black rhinos were once the most numerous of the rhino species, however it is now estimated that less than 5000 remain in the wild. These critically endangered animals will become extinct unless effective and compelling action is taken.
