'With dunes up to 300m high, Khongoryn Els is a spur of sand 100km long and 12km wide spearing into the #Gobi desert steppe. We climbed the highest dune for spectacular views of the vast, open plains from the ‘Singing Sands’. On a fine day the dunes ‘sing’ as wind and heat shifts the sand.
