Big changes are coming in the music industry. According to Rolling Stone, Spotify will allow independent artists to upload songs and albums directly to Spotify without going through a label, distribution company, or even a Spotify employee. .

As of now, the feature is invite only-beta form. Spotify is hoping to increase ease and flexibility of uploading content and working with artists so they can own their copyright and freely distribute their music.
