Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia met at the Institute for the Young Blind in Bamako, Mali and married in 1980. Over the past 30 years, Amadou & Mariam have become two of Mali’s most beloved musicians and global ambassadors of their country’s rich music culture. Yesterday, we were honored to host them as lecturers at the Red Bull Music Academy in Berlin.
