125 years ago today, Aotearoa was the first in the world to grant women the right to vote. Equality and women’s rights have come a long way, but with ongoing challenges more progress is still needed. Today is about celebrating New Zealand wāhine and the astonishing achievements they have worked so hard for. For me Dame @バレリー・アダムス is an absolute inspiration. Everything she has achieved has been a mark for New Zealand women, and inspired generations of young kiwi girls. I feel immensely proud to be a kiwi and follow in her footsteps.
