With Chris Froome winning the Giro d'Italia, Geraint Thomas the Tour de France and Yates La Vuelta a España, GB ?? became the first country to take all three Grand Tours in the same year with different riders.

One nation winning all three Grand Tours in one year has happened before, the most recent example being in 2008 when Alberto Contador and Carlos Sastre of Spain ?? won La Vuelta, Giro d’Italia and The Tour. Before that, it was France ?? in 1964 with Jacques Anquetil and Raymond Poulidor.
