“Kilchurn Castle is a hauntingly beautiful sight. It was built by the Campbells in the 15th century on an island within Loch Awe. Since then, the water level of the loch has changed and the castle is now accessible on foot via an exposed causeway. In 1760 it was badly damaged by lightning and was consequently abandoned. So violent was the storm, the remains of a turret tower still rest upside-down in the center of the courtyard.” ? + caption by Siân Addison (@sianaddison)
