It’s not often you get to swim in pure rainwater! #LakeMackenzie on @VisitFraserIsland in @Queensland is fed only by rain; with no streams, ocean, or groundwater helping to fill this stunning site. For any geologists out there wondering how this is possible, the lake contains an impervious layer of sand and organic matter which prevents that rainwater from draining away. The lake, photographed here by @aero.aus, also has pure white silica sand - making it both great to look and very soft to walk on.
