I hardly get political on social media, but once in a blue moon, I like to take the opportunity to use my voice and get REAL, and it just so happens to be throwback thursday and I have this patriotic photo to grab your attention..so this is one of those times.

Instead of spotlighting the drama in this daily soap opera which has sadly become the reality of our current state of political affairs, I wish we could switch gears and get to the issues that REALLY matter and that affect us all... i.e. HEALTHCARE.

You don’t realize how pressing of an issue healthcare coverage is until you or someone you love is affected by it. Can we focus on creating affordable QUALITY insurance, coverage of pre-existing conditions, lowering the cost of healthcare by utilizing technology...

As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, I can attest to the anxiety and fear that such an issue causes. Choosing an insurance plan when you’ve got a “pre-existing condition” is confusing; when you have to switch insurance providers due to cost or other reasons, finding an insurance plan where your current healthcare providers are in-network can be impossible, causing you to have to let go of doctors that have been treating you for years- not to mention, not everyone can afford healthcare that covers life threatening diseases or debilitating health conditions. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE. No matter what side of the line you stand on, left or right, republican, Democrat, independent, white, black, brown, yellow, woman or man, rich, poor, or in-between...we all deserve affordable, quality, life saving healthcare.
