Why do you play: “drums chose me. I sat at a drum set at 5 and could play. It was predetermined before this life.” How or when did you know who to be? “It’s a daily decision I discovered at 22. Actually for me it’s a moment to moment decision!” Have you encountered racism/sexism/homophobia? “Many times but not towards me. My study of the Holocaust at six years old gave me a profound awareness.” What is love? “Such regards for others (or another) that my wants become secondary; a completion of myself through another.” What is the way forward: “understanding that we all have the ability to choose our attitudes regardless of our circumstance and that attitude determines behavior, and behavior determines consequences. So choose an attitude that is in the interest of the highest good of all concerned!” If you could change one thing about the world... “have empathy and compassion be as fundamental in each human as the need to eat and sleep!”
