I am incredibly moved by these two dudes. My husband @cinzano_pirelli and his bloody amazing dad, Pete, are attempting to ride 969 miles in 9 days, on a very heavy tandem bike next week. This has not been and will not be easy; both Pete and Enzo have been training since January for this, ⏰ before dawn to get the miles in. Peter has Parkinson’s disease and has told us this will be his last ride. Parkinson’s is a greedy bastard of a disease; robs you of your ability to do many things, like sleep. It drains your dopamine and makes simple tasks incredibly overwhelming. It’s also massively on the rise and scientists have made some breakthrough discoveries lately, finding that like many previously presumed genetic conditions, Parkinson’s actually begins in the gut. ? Please help fund vital research, even if it’s only £1, if the tipping point is achieved the government and pharmaceutical corps will match the funding, meaning the capacity to find a cure, and not just for Parkinson’s disease because the data generated will directly help other areas of medical research. .
