My whole life growing up as a kid I wanted to be just like you, follow you everywhere, and the list goes on and on .
We grew up together, you taught me how to swim by throw me in the pool with no floaty’s on and having to figure it out. That concept seem to follow for a while as a kid. :-) I’m sharing this picture because I’m so proud of the person you’ve become, the family man that you are, the way you raise your kids, and how much support and effort you make to be a big brother even though were thousands of miles away!

The coolest thing about growing up with you was seeing you be your own person no matter how society expected us to be as young black man, living in the suburbs of Indianapolis, you were completely your own person and made me feel comfortable in my own skin to be different, to challenge the norm, to date whoever I wanted to date, to listen to whatever music I wanted to listen to, to dress however I wanted to dress, and be unapologetically confident in that.

My brothers biological mom who is the mom that we lost five years ago is embedded so much and us with our fight and toughness… It’s going to be really hard for me to not see her there on Sunday but I know she’s living inside of all of us and especially inside of my beautiful niece and nephew pictured here!
