Try not to ? at how cute these two screaming hairy armadillo pups are. They are 3 weeks old and have been living in an off-exhibit nest with their mom. They are growing and are nearly 3 ounces! Their eyes are still closed, but will open when they are about one month old. The species gets its name from its most obvious characteristics. They make a squealing noise when threatened and have more hair compared to some other armadillo species. Visitors can see the pups when they are a little older at the Small Mammal House. #WeSaveSpecies
