I lived in this house for about two years when I was a little girl. My mother built it but eventually had to sell it bc it became too expensive to maintain on a working single mom budget. I used to climb over the fence and speak French with the neighbor and her three year old daughter. I barely spoke French which proved to be problematic when the little girl would accuse me of eating all her cookies and I’d attempt to lie that I didn’t. There was a lot of tumult in my life at this time. When my mom wasn’t working she was dating. My dog Bouncer, (my first Teets) got hit by a car and died on St Patrick’s day, I got fired from my sister‘s imaginary Day Spa BEYOND BEAUTY, and I didn’t make the school tumbling team. One fond memory I have is of trying to write a book. I had a dictaphone I would hide under the kitchen table and talk into, sometimes recording bits of story and other times simply taping my mom and sister screaming at each other. The main character in my story was named, Maddie. She was a detective in London at the turn of the century. Now, almost 30 years I’m not writing a detective story but I am calling my heroine “Maddie“ it’s what 9 year old Jenny would have wanted. #RIPBOUNCER #Muthafuckinteets #coronado
