We all benefit from the environment in ways far beyond our scope of understanding. It’s time to recognize how we impact the planet since human-caused climate change is not going away. The degree to which climate change affects us will only increase, and the adverse repercussions will have dire consequences for future generations. Climate change is not something that will simply go away if ignored -- but for many of us, ignoring it is easier. However, today there are whole populations of people being negatively and disproportionately impacted by climate change.
One way we can mitigate climate change is by embracing policies that would hold accountable those responsible for climate change. Carbon pricing is one solution that would discourage the use of fossil fuels while advocating for the production of renewable energy. I’ve been working for an organization, Our Climate, who is making it their mission to pass carbon pricing. Our Climate is led by youth, the generation that is going to be most affected by climate change. We are taking matters into our own hands, and doing what we can to make our future better.
