Flashback to 96’ in the Cook Islands ... we partied all night with these rad humans from New Zealand and pretty much didn’t sleep ... the next day @guitamega talked me and @jayreale into paddling out to this reef that was like a mile out in the ocean ... Tamega convinced us that it was only like 15 foot faces but when we got out there it was way way bigger ... long story short I actually shed a tear in the water because I thought we were gonna die and when I made it back to the beach I literally kissed the sand ... a few days later we scored the session this shot was taken which was perfection ... I was just thinking how that’s a sick metaphor for life ... we survive the crazy times to enjoy the awesome times and in the end you’re just thankful that you gotta live through and experience it all ?? photo @russellhoover
