Currently reading a book about Germany in the 30s before Hitler came into power and came across these few pages. Everything starts out normal in the beginning. People are living amongst each other, different races and religions. You begin to see sweeping changes! Rules that don't seem fair start to take shape. It's ok because they don't necessarily affect you, yet!!! Those that oppose the new regime are first humiliated, made fun of. Then as that regimes power grows they begin to isolate different groups and people that oppose them. If your views don't align with theirs you are attacked either verbally or physically. The new regime tries to control the media or the press so they can manipulate the people! ?Propoganda was a huge tool for Hitler. He wanted the German people to believe that Germany needed to win again and that certain people in their country were the reason that Germany was struggling?. Sounds familiar!!! This is why a free press is important and a vital part of every society. The press must speak truth to power and hold them accountable no matter what the consequences! A person in our government that can't answer a simple question without lying must be held accountable. We cannot be overrun by any man, woman or regime that doesn't allow any person or group in this country to have a voice or an opinion. Our voices are the greatest weapons we possess. In 1933 people in Germany believed that they would be ok and that Hitler would fade away. He quickly closed the borders and wanted every immigrant out of Germany.? I know you will say that it's not the same and for god sakes I hope you're right but I can only go off of what I'm reading in this book and how I feel living in America right now! We are the United States of America! Say it out loud!! UNITED!!! Not divided. Everyone is included! Vote the people out that aren't willing to listen to our voices and vote the people out that don't serve ALL of the people in this country!!! If you don't like my post just unfollow!
